Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about training, booking, pricing, and what to expect.
What level do I need to start?
No experience needed. Every session is adapted to the person — clear fundamentals and patience for beginners, sharper work and harder rounds for those further along. The Beginner Starter Pack is built specifically for people who have never trained Muay Thai.
How do I book a session?
Use the booking form at /book or the Smart Booking assistant at /smart-book if you want help choosing the right session. You can also get in touch via the contact page. Kru Din responds within 24-48 hours to confirm availability and provide directions.
What should I bring?
Comfortable training clothes, water, and a towel. Gloves and pads are provided — you do not need your own gear. Hand wraps are available for first-timers. If you have your own equipment, bring it.
Where are sessions held?
On the beach and in forest clearings in Cow Bay, Daintree, Far North Queensland. You cross the Daintree River Ferry to get here. Specific directions are provided after booking confirmation. Cairns is approximately two hours south; Port Douglas is one hour south.
How long are sessions?
Standard personal training sessions are 60 minutes. Small group and fight prep sessions typically run 75–90 minutes. Tourism packages are half-day or full-day experiences, depending on what you arrange.
What does personal training cost?
One-on-one training is $80 per hour. Multi-session packs save you money: 4 sessions for $300 (save $20) or 8 sessions for $560 (save $80). See the pricing page for a full breakdown.
Can I train with a partner or small group?
Yes. Pair sessions are $120 for two people and small group sessions are $160 for three. Sessions are adapted for the group while keeping the coaching personal. Maximum group size is around four.
What programs are available?
Three structured programs: Beginner Starter Pack (fundamentals and confidence), Fighter Conditioning (strength, cardio, and power), and Fight Prep Block (competition preparation). Private training options include 1:1 coaching and small-group sessions. See /programs for details.
Are there free community sessions?
Yes. Tuesday and Thursday at 6 AM — crossfit and general fitness in the Daintree. Informal, all levels welcome, no booking needed. A good way to experience training here before committing to a paid session.
Do you offer tourism packages?
Yes. The Tourism Training Experience combines Muay Thai on the beach, cold creek recovery swims, rainforest time, and accommodation options. Pricing is tailored to your stay — contact us and we will build something around your visit.
Is there accommodation nearby?
Yes. There are two motel units on site — comfortable, clean, and right at the training location. For something with more space or a more premium feel, several excellent BnBs are in the area. We can point you to the right ones.
What is the cancellation policy?
24 hours notice is required for cancellations. Late cancellations (less than 24 hours) forfeit the session fee. Cancellations caused by weather are rescheduled at no charge.
Is there parking?
Yes, free parking on site. Cross the Daintree River Ferry and follow the road to Cow Bay. Exact directions are sent after booking.
What makes training here different from a gym?
The setting and the approach. Sessions happen outdoors — on the beach or in the rainforest — with no class schedule, no crowd, and no template. Every session is built around the person in front of Kru Din. Over twenty years of coaching means technique-first training with honest feedback at every level.
